Betekenis de eurozone

De eurozone (of eurosysteem, eurolanden, eurogebied) is de verzamelnaam voor de landen van de Europese Unie die de euro als munt hebben. De Europese Centrale Bank is verantwoordelijk voor het monetair beleid binnen de eurozone. Momenteel is de euro (EUR, €) de officiële munteenheid van 20 van de 27 EU-lidstaten die samen de eurozone vormen, officieel de eurozone genoemd.

The economic and monetary union (EMU) of the European Union is a group of policies aimed at converging the economies of member states of the European Union at three stages.
